Hello, I’m Katia Musucancha,  

 

My journey in tourism began 15 years ago in the Amazon rainforest, where I had the opportunity to work at Rainforest Expeditions' three ecolodges. Getting to know each lodge in depth and working alongside the incredible team behind them allowed me to truly understand the essence of hospitality in the Amazon. Eight years ago, I transitioned to sales at our Lima office, where I enjoy connecting with travelers from around the world and guiding them on their next adventure in Peru.  

 

I love interacting with all types of travelers,

but I especially relate to those who travel solo. As a solo traveler myself, I understand the sense of discovery and personal connection that comes with exploring new destinations, and I enjoy encouraging others to embrace that experience without fear. One of my most cherished memories is traveling with my mother—at first, she was afraid of insects and encountering a snake, but once she arrived in the jungle, her fears disappeared, and I watched her enjoy the experience like a child in a playground.

I’ve had the chance to explore much of Peru

From the majestic mountains of Huaraz and the ancient trails of Cusco to the cultural richness of northern destinations like Chachapoyas, Trujillo, and Chiclayo. When it comes to adventure-seeking travelers, I always recommend Cusco for its iconic treks like the Inca Trail, or Huaraz for its breathtaking high-altitude hikes. Both destinations offer challenges—but also unforgettable rewards.

Traveling the world has also shaped my perspective

I’ve had the opportunity to visit India, Turkey, Italy, and Spain. In each of these places, I learned something new—not only about their fascinating cultures but also about the different ways tourism is experienced and valued. Many of these approaches focus on authentic connection, respect, and meaningful discovery. These experiences have inspired me to design more conscious, personalized travel proposals that go beyond the itinerary and connect with the deeper meaning of exploration.

Many travelers worry about feeling alone, but the truth is quite the opposite. You’ll be surrounded by like-minded people and guided by experts who know the rainforest like the back of their hand. Being in the jungle is an adventure in itself—each day surprises you with something new: a sound, a sighting, a species you’ve never seen before. From the very beginning, the Amazon welcomes you with its vibrant energy and incredible biodiversity.

 

Outside of work, photography and dancing are my passions. To me, photos are a way to capture unforgettable moments, preserving the beauty of experiences we wish we could relive. Dancing brings me pure joy—I even dance alone in the rain when the moment feels right. Every experience, both inside and outside the jungle, strengthens my commitment to creating unique and unforgettable adventures for travelers.
